RE: [VIDEO] The Kids in the Hall are back!

Things I remember... the devil that kept doing bad things and saying, "Evil!" whilst looking to the camera... the surgeon sketch... the crushing and pinching stand off... this guy losing his pen and panicking... the peacock lady...

I might have to go back and watch some of them again! They are also on Amazon

[VIDEO] The Kids in the Hall are back!

I used to love their show in the 80s, I think it was on overnight on ITV? I forget where, but I'm crushing your head, I'm crushing your head!

Anyway... it's back! On Amazon Prime, I'm a few episodes in and they've still got it.

RE: [VIDEO] Arsenal 21/22 season

Elneny has signed a contract extension, I'm happy about that from a squad player pov, he's a good backup if someone is out. Not sure how I feel about him being a first choice though!

"Another series I've never even seen one of."

I can understand not seeing MI2 onwards, but the first one is a Brian De Palma movie!

"A few times I think you thought you were a little ahead of where you really were but now think you're still a good few players short of challenging for much?"

Yes, I think we've both said numerous times we are a few players short a number of times, but we do waffle on so it's no surprise to miss it. 😂

The reason we don't have a CL spot is not enough depth in the squad. With our first choice 11 all fit, we are still short of a top striker, with only 8 or 9 of our first choice fit, we were struggling in later games and it showed.

This!

Thank you! It seems like I should get a box set at some point, maybe when the final movies are done.

Did MI get significantly better? I know it seems to have a lot of fans, I really enjoyed the first one but I thought the second was terrible and never went back. The IMDB ratings seem to go up after the 2nd...

"amazing how people see completely different viewpoints, I think Arteta has been a disaster"

It's the difference between watching almost every game... and watching MotD.

It's the difference between judging a fully built house that's been standing for a few years, and one that's had to be knocked down and is slowly being rebuilt.

It's the difference between knowing we have a club that has to build a team, and has chosen to build that team by mostly nurturing young talent, compared to expecting us to have one that can compete against clubs by just buying the best at ridiculous prices all the time.

It's the difference between having a club where the players want to make it better, and having one which keeps having endless speculation about where it's top striker is going to be next transfer window.

It's the difference between believing, and being a miserable old git.

IMHO :)

RE: [VIDEO] Arsenal 21/22 season

I didn't watch the game, just saw the goals on MotD. We've made progress this season, which considering we don't have a top striker has been quite amazing.

Looking forward to the summer transfer window and hoping for at least a striker and midfielder. But really we also need a right back understudy for Tierney.

I guess to protect them from serious injury that keeps them out for pre-season? It makes sense, but I don't believe it either!

Haha, no really it's just a group of persistent spammers who are creating multiple accounts over the last few days and spamming with it. Hopefully they will give up and not make me disable new account creation.

Trying to be happy with top 5 being a huge improvement, knowing how many players we are short (and have no good enough understudies for), and how badly we need a striker.

But it's not helping.

RE: Can you make your own replacement Li-ion battery pack?

The answer is both "it depends" and also "be careful"

It depends on what type the cells are, if they have a protection circuit built in, if you can buy replacements that are the same voltage and at least equal capacity, in the right size. Also, enjoy the fun of getting ones which are not cheap knock-offs that pretend to be one capacity and yet are mysteriously lighter than the ones you took out.

So, say you match all that, the charging/protection circuits are happy with them, you are ready to replace all of them (and they are balanced nicely)...

...you are now in the fun world of soldering tabs of batteries together, and one thing batteries do enjoy doing is getting hot and catching fire. This is where a soldering iron is your enemy, even a quality temperature controlled one. You need a battery spot welder to do it in the safest way, those are fun things!

Mine really loves to trip my house circuit breaker.

You'll find YouTube videos of people soldering battery terminals without problems, and I've even done this myself. But now I would be super careful and avoid it (which is why I bought a spot welder for this purpose, also not a cheap thing). If I absolutely had to do it, I would do it outside, and have a rehearsed method for grabbing a smoking battery and dumping it in a bucket of sand ASAP.

Maybe you'll solder all the batteries just fine! Maybe you'll get unlucky and burn your house down.
