RE: Stuff to do.

I still think it's a shame Cabin Fever never made it to TV, although perhaps it wouldn't be as perfect if it did.

It isn't the only one, the other one is patents for various things are owned by lots of huge medical companies that don't care about anything beyond their profit margins.

I wonder if people think that they need to get there early to beat the rush, and therefore the rush is early.

These are essential services, if my local co-op became short staffed I'd offer to be a temp worker there if it helped!

RE: Clocks Go Forward tonight (Sat 30th Sun 31st))

My body clock has been self-adjusting all week, waking me up early, I don't think this is anything to do with it being clever, just natural anxiety about the world.

RE: [VIDEO] Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

This is another thing now isn't it, we are all suddenly hypochondriacs! Questioning every minor thing we would have dismissed or ignored that would be gone the next day, asking if it's the start of Cova.

Really? I'm not liking idiots not taking this seriously enough, if we all took it as seriously as we should be we wouldn't need it.

Do you mean in his past?

I've just finished the final episode, and I really enjoyed this season and hope there are more coming. It's like STTNG but brought more up to date, but with a good plot and better acting.

"but without proper testing what chance do we have?"

Not enough, we still aren't testing NHS workers, there could be many isolating that may not have it.

The problem with testing though, is you might almost kind of want a positive one if you are in strong health. Because that means you've had it (with one test) or have got it. A negative just means you haven't got it yet.

RE: Coping with the lockdown

Before the lockdown, I could often run at night and hardly see anyone, so I got my run in and saw three people, two of those were workmen, another a man and his dog (I'm not sure if he was going to mow a meadow).

For the first 2km I felt like a couped up race horse suddenly allowed to run free, but not remotely as fast, maybe a very old knackered race horse, but anyway, this is how I felt.

That 25 minutes of running did more for my mental health I think than anything else.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/

Sobering graphs and data on that site.

Also, if you switch the graph to total cases in the UK and view it as a logarithmic scale, we should have been going into lockdown around the start of March.

I know that would have been incredibly unpopular, and trying to get enough of the public to understand how log scales work would have been hard, but since when was leadership meant to be easy.

Coping with the lockdown

How are we all managing this?

I have never had a shortage of things to do, probably already started more than two lifetimes would let me finish. But the social isolation is getting to me a little bit, if I didn't have a dog that demanded cuddles most of the time anyway, I think I'd get very down very quickly.

I'm thankful to be living in a small town on the south coast, where now people are finally taking this more seriously, it's pretty quiet everywhere, so I'm not so worried about armageddon.

So has Kirsty Allsopp's husband, so they all decided to take the family to their second home in Devon, after he was diagnosed. Which was nice.

Nice to know that in this time of difficulty scummy spammers like rerrafvenitsirhc[at]moc.liamg are out in force, along with the scammers who kept ringing my phone last week.

RE: [VIDEO] Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

I think as each day passes people are starting to get it. Except too many people under the age of 18, they don't seem to be getting it yet.

On the bright side, police may not be dealing with as many other normal offences for a while. And there is always the army to help out.

"I think the Government have introduced this closure of everything, businesses and schools, far to early by looking at their own curve"

You need to look at exponential curves, a single day can make a huge difference, and we have already had a hospital in London too full to take any more infected patients.

When would you do this? When all hospitals are full and everyone vulnerable who gets infected after has to just die at home?
